March of Mephisto: Chapter IChapter I: The beginning of it allI have a story to tell, it's a long one but I'm still going to tell you it. It began about 21 years ago, when I was about 4 years old. I was taken suddenly and without warning from my family one cold winters night. This apparently was happening all over the country of Penland, our new king had ordered that all children 4 6 years old were to be taken by (force if nesasary) to begin training for the military. This was in the year 2043, it's now 2064 and I'm a wanted man. Hunted by the military, bounty hunters, and my own people. I am now trying to make it to the island nation of New Denmark, which is the only free nation left standing in all of this turmoil and chaos that the tyrant king, also known as king Mephisto, has wrought upon this once peaceful continent. But anyway getting back to my story, I or we had been trained from the moment we arrived at the camps. These camps were just bare snow covered buildings and training courses. The tempera
March of Mephisto: Chapter IIIChapter III: The Story ContinuesOk so I have finally managed to get away from those guys. Now I can continue my story. We trained that way for 10 years. Never stopping to let us get some R&R, or to relax. Finally after 10 years of marching drilling and training (we were 16 by then) we were allowed to use weapons. Now out of the 1000 of us that had arrived there 10 years ago, only about 650 of us remained. The others having died gotten crippled or mutilated in someway, shape, or form by the cold. But as we began to train, some of us were taken and given tests of some sort, which they were then transferred to another camp. Apparently they were being taken out of the Army and being transferred to other branches of the military. We continued to train nevertheless on military tactics, marksmanship, platoon/squad tactics, cleaning and dismantling our weapons, and using different weapons. Also if you were lucky, if they saw some sort of natural leader in you they would take you off to office
March of Mephisto: Chapter IVChapter IV: After the Battle/Running awayAs like walked through the streets of the ruined city of Libertas Semper Fidelis, once again he wondered how he had been so fortunate to have survived. It had been almost 4 years ago since that fateful battle had happened, and almost 22 years since he had been taken for military service. He couldn't seem to shake off the flashbacks that kept happening when he revisited old battle sites on his way to New Denmark. He hadn't been traveling as fast as he should have been, but he was still closer to his goal then when he had started. So Luke shouldered his M16A6 and began to walk quickly out of the city. Suddenly, though, he stopped! Luke then quickly dropped to one knee and un-slung his M16. Suddenly bullets began to whack into the rubble and ground around him. Shit I'm in for it now, he thought. Quickly with one smooth motion from years of practice and drilling Luke chambered a round into the M16 and stood up swinging around, spotted the shooters
March of Mephisto: Chapter IIChapter II: Preparation for battleLuke and the other soldiers were exhausted, they had been marching non-stop for a week and now they were going to be sent into battle with only a day's rest. There was much complaining and grumbling, as the soldiers prepared to attack the city there was suddenly a loud rumble! Luke's head snapped up from his chest where it had been resting. Suddenly artillery shells began to scream overhead and explode when they reached the city! "Alright boys get ready" came the shout from the platoon lieutenant. Luke quickly got his gear on and got in line with the rest of his squad as they prepared to assault the city. When the command was given they all surged forward with a great roar. That was the last of that day Luke remembered as everything went into a blur of motion sound and pain.
March of Mephisto: ProloguePrologue: March of MephistoAs he marched through the deserted, rubble-strewn streets of the once proud city of Characel, Luke tried not to think what had transpired there last night! Instead he concentrated on marching through the mud, blood and dirty water puddles that the rain was creating throughout the city! It had been an extremely long night for Luke, as he had been fighting all night. He was filthy and wanted to bathe himself, which he knew wouldn't be possible for quite awhile since they would be moving on the city of Libertas Semper Fidelis or Freedom Always Faithful. He was a soldier of the Lord Mephisto, who was in many people's eyes a cruel tyrant of a king. But Luke wasn't trained to think about these things, only to follow orders. It was a hot humid day and the rain had turned from a light drizzle to a downpour. The soldiers Luke included were all grumbling and complaining about it. But as Luke shouldered his M16A6 and fell in with the others he really didn't care as the
The Dragon Empire: Rise of DarknessIn the land of Kiriath Arbae, there was a noble race of dragons who ruled over their subjects with a firm and gentle hand. Ruled by their noble king, Lord Laeg’noe. The Kingdom prospered and flourished for over two millennia until a great plague swept over the land. Dragons and Men alike fell ill to the strange sickness. No matter how hard they tried the doctors and physicians couldn’t stay the diseases’ rampage. Almost a year into the plague’s reign of terror and death, the king took ill. The best physicians, doctors and shaman were summoned to the king’s side to render aid. But to no avail, and, after just a few short days, the king passed into the afterworld. Lament and mourning ensued for the next three months as the beloved king was enshrined in the mountain grotto where his ancestors were laid. Shortly after the king was buried, the Great Plague tapered and died out, but not before taking with it the majority of the royal family and over two and a ha
